Whether you are seeking pain management, stress relief or simply to find balance and re-energize, I will work with you to achieve these goals. I have been providing Massage and Bodywork Therapy since 1997, graduating from The Whole You School of Massage in Western NC.

As a therapist, I continually strive to expand my knowledge and skills through continuing education and I am fluent in many modalities that are often incorporated into each massage session. Recognizing that each and every person is unique, I will always strive to tailor your massage to meet you where you are. I offer a variety of techniques which allows for a more in-depth massage to target your specific needs to best help you.

Some of the modalities that I offer include:

Hot Stone

Thai Yoga

(using Young Living pure essential oils)

Lomi Lomi: Hawaiian

Myofascial Release

Vibrational Sound Therapy

Ashiatsu: also known as Oriental Deepbar Therapy

TMD: Temporomandibular joint Dysfunction

I am currently one of the only massage therapists in Hickory and the surrounding area to offer Ashiatsu, which is also known as Oriental Deep Bar Therapy. Bars are used above the massage table for support and balance as the massage is done mainly with the feet. This technique allows for deep compression as well as deep relaxation. Read more about it on the Ashiatsu page.

This fusion of my love of fitness and the desire to help others came full circle when I began the path of Yoga.  I gained my certification and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher, 500 hour RYT, #192160. I offer private yoga instruction, as well as group classes and I love teaching those just beginning the journey of yoga.  You can read more on my yoga page. Whether you are a curious beginner or practice daily, I would love to cheer you on.

I am also a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner. This bodywork is done with the client fully clothed and it combines the benefits of both massage and yoga. Thai yoga encourages you to fully relax as the therapist stretches, lengthens and assists the body into yoga-like postures which can bring about increased flexibility, range of motion as well as help to relieve fatigue, painful joints and headaches. This technique works to free tension within the body and is known for its ability to clear energy pathways.  Thai massage is also a form of assisted meditation.

I am including a brief description of some of my current modalities here, but please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to determine the modality which may be most suited to your current life.

My promise to those who entrust me as their therapist, is one of integrity, passion and dedication. I will always seek to honor you as the distinct individual that you are, mind, body and spirit. There is no one else like you! I truly feel that massage and the other bodywork modalities I offer are expressive art forms that can bring about life change that is both seen and felt.

Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist                                     #1685

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy is a holistic healing practice that uses very light touching to balance the craniosacral system in the body, which includes the bones, nerves, fluids, and connective tissues of the cranium and spinal area. Craniosacral therapy uses gentle touch manipulation of your head, neck, and the bottom of your spine. Your neck, back, and hips will feel looser and freer. Craniosacral therapy can help to improve the functioning of the nervous system, relieving pain and improving mobility.

Lomi Lomi (Hawaiian Massage)

Lomi Lomi is a Hawaiian method that combines long, continuous flowing strokes, totally nurturing the body. Lomi Lomi is also known as the "Dance of Life" massage because of the beautiful fluid motion that is incorporated into each session. Sessions can be tailored to each individual with pressure ranging from a lighter touch to a firmer, deeper pressure.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release uses specific techniques to stretch and repair the connective tissue

between your muscles (fascia). It helps allow the body to heal properly from injuries and can restore range of motion. Gentle sustained pressure is incorporated to allow the fascia to begin to release and return to its natural state of well being.

Hot Stone

The therapeutic effects of heat are used to relax muscles more deeply. Used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, the use of heated basalt stones induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming and centering. Hot stone massage is beneficial for arthritis, headaches, migraines, chronic pain and stress. The stones can be especially helpful for those with anxiety, depression and insomnia.
